Clifford Essex Paragon

1928-1933, Grafton Street model. Fitted with a calf skin head which is marked "new vellum fitted in 1933". No damage or repairs, straight neck, original frets, excellent original hardware including tailpiece cover, perfectly fitting resonator, Page Style E tuners. Also fitted are the original Grover Deluxe bridge, and pick holder, both of which can be found in the Clifford Essex catalogue (see photos), it also comes with two original spanners, also found in the catalougue. Probably the best original/unmolested example available. Comes in its original blue-lined case which is also in excellent condition.  £6000 Photos

Clifford Essex Paragon
Serial #2. A historical example of this much-loved banjo. These very early models had no flange and a close-fitting resonator, the peghead binding associated with later models is also absent. Interestingly, it is fitted with Page figure 8 tuners. Stunning condition with original case. £5000

Clifford Essex "New Paragon"
1930's. Super rare original top tension model, and one of only two known to exist. The top of the resonator is missing its lip, otherwise no damage or repairs. HSC. £4000
