Clifford Essex Professional

On Consignment. Instrument is with it's owner in England.

An extremely rare tenor from this iconic English maker. 19 frets, 22.5" scale, 11" rim. Maple and rosewood neck, ebony fingerboard with pearl inlays, modern geared tuners, oak rim spun over with nickel silver, the rest of the metalwork is nickel plated brass, scalloped tension hoop, modern tailpiece and armrest, close fit concave resonator. Previous damage to the neck has resulted in the peghead being grafted back onto the neck (see photo). With the exception of the peghead repair, the overall condition is excellent, with just a few places showing some plating wear. A wonderful sounding banjo and a joy to play. Sound-file available upon request. £1000. No offers. Photos
