Bacon & Day Silver Bell "Roy Smeck Stage Model"
Custom made in very small numbers and constructed from African Paduak (vermillion), nickel plated, straight neck, perfect frets, Ottinger tailpiece, Grover tuners, original hooks and nuts. The fingerboard, peghead and heel cap are finished stunning metallic gold with coloured engravings. Some of the hooks show their age, but there is no damage or repairs. Epiphone Recording Artist
Serial # 7479. Walnut, nickel-plated, 19 fret, 23" scale, 10 15/16" rim. This one has had a hard life and has the following issues. The woodwork needs refinishing, the peghead has had a repair on one side (see photo), the fingerboard has some divots and the frets need replacing. One the plus side, it has a straight neck, an original tailpiece, and original hooks and nuts. New head, new Gotoh tuners, modern armrest. Iucci Baby Grand No1
1920's. 19 fret, 22-3/4" Scale, 11-1/4" rim. A cracking banjo from the somewhat enigmatic Iucci company of New York. Maple neck, maple pie-crust resonator, engraved aluminium and maple archtop rim, engraved tension hoop, ebony fingerboard and peghead overlay both inlaid with intricate mother of pearl designs, Grover tuners. Rosewood neck and resonator, maple rim with rosewood veneer, the resonator and peghead are beautifully inlaid with floral scenes, reminiscent of an Italian renaissance painting, rosewood fingerboard, engraved pearl inlays, carved heel, gold plated, original hooks and nut, flip-top tailpiece, hotdog armrest, push button mute and external action adjuster, the original tuner buttons have been replaced with the much sought after Catalina's, straight neck, original frets with very light wear. Vega Little Wonder
1928, natural maple, 19 fret, 23" scale, 10 15/16" rim, 4-piece flange, 2-piece resonator, Presto tailpiece, Gotoh tuners, excellent frets, rhinestones added to the peghead, the rear of the peghead has 1905 carved into it, position markers added to the neck in an unusual fashion, the back of the neck (from the peghead to the heel) has been sanded down to a super smooth finish, plays beautifully and sounds amazing. £1000. Vega Moderne

1960's. 19 fret, 23" scale, 10 15/16" rim. A much later, yellow-label version of this classic Vega. Tubaphone tonering, maple rim, resonator and neck (with adjustable truss rod), nickel-plated, ebony fingerboard with block and dot pearl inlays, modern tuners and tailpiece, beautiful sunburst finish with light wear, tarnish and wear to some of the plating.
