Majestic Deluxe
Very rare to find one with the original sticker in the resonator. New York circa 1920's. Rosewood neck and resonator, maple rim, fancy pie-crust resonator with lots of coloured purfling on sides and back. Neck is straight as an arrow with pearl inlays, beautifully inlaid peghead. Like so many makers of the 20's and 30's, Majestic experimented with various types of rim/tone ring set-ups. This is one is very similar to that of a Clifford Essex Paragon, in that it has a tube that sits on stantions, with corrosponding sound holed bored through the rim. Some inlay has been replaced and the resonator would benefit from a refinish. However the banjo is structurally sound and plays perfectly. New tuners and tailpiece. HSC. Very good condition £850.
