Gibson Recording King

Made by Gibson in 1930 for retailer Montgomery Ward. This was the highest grade model they produced and was based on thier "Style 6". It features many appointments found on high grade Mastertone banjos. These include, gold plating, maple rim, 40 hole archtop tone ring, multi-coloured (Florentine style) binding, engraved armrest and tension-hoop, hearts and flowers inlays and Planet tuners with solid pearl buttons. Unfortunately the heel has a crack, which was repaired and is solid. Incredibly rare. Comes with a full appraisal/valuation by Joe Spann. OHSC. £3000
