1929. High grade maple throughout. Tubaphone tonering, 28 piece flange, inlaid piecrust resonator, ebony fingerboard, with highly ornate pearl inlays. The peghead is profusely inlaid and the back of the peghead is inlaid with the Vega star. Hand carved heel and a pearl inlaid heel cap. Original Oettinger tailpiece and original armrest. Gold plated hardware. Vegaphones are classic jazz banjos and were used by many of the New Orleans players, including Lawrence Marrero, George Guesnon and Emanuel Sayles.
